As for as a story I told my daughter the truth about Santa yesterday after a week of "Is he real" requests and she handled it great at the time but earlier today she came into my office crying and told me she doesn't feel like herself anymore. So I guess she's still working through it a little but she will be fine.
She just turned 9 right before Christmas. 3 kids in her class were spilling the beans right before winter break so I think that prompted her continued questioning
My wife and child flew out to visit the parents in law and sister in law’s family for a week. Instead of holiday splendor, we have been stuck in an Airbnb all week with Covid. Time to fly home tomorrow (I hope!).
I do not have kids, but I have friends with a baby on the way and a 4 year old. Love to keep crossplay in my back pocket for gaming dad advice I can share with them.
We gave our 8 year old son a cheap laptop for Christmas because he has been begging to play Roblox for a year. His account is restricted to "all ages" games only and has a monthly Robux purchase limit of $0. He was told the "rules" right up front and agreed to them. We'll have to see how long he tolerates it before he starts asking to play something restricted or purchase something with Robux.
LEGO Fortnite has been a huge hit since me and my daughter started playing together a few weeks ago, and she was tired of being the default "boy skin" - so I caved and used some of my own V bucks to get her a holiday themed skin. Sure enough, she was a huge fan, but now wants to also do my dances/emotes/etc. so I had to sit down and explain how Fortnite works. She got a V bucks card in her stocking this year and I laid out that V bucks don't grow on trees, so she needs to think carefully about how she'll use them. (Spoiler it's probably gonna be all the TMNT skins) - We've also dropped into Battle Royale a couple times now and got 4th place in our first game! She even picked up her first elimination! (Pretty sure we were in a match full of bots, but an elim is an elim) - Her face was pure joy. It's a moment I'll cherish for a long time
Happy to have you around in any medium Patrick.

Happy holidays!
Oh wow, how old? I'm waiting for that to happen to us, mostly because my oldest is good friends with an older kid.

Fuuuu, okay. My oldest's best friend has a younger sister, so I'm hoping we can keep the lid on it for at least another year.
Have been enjoying this hugely so just wanted to say thanks for this year and best of luck with the next!
Thank you!

I am writing this later, hoping you got home!!!!
We did! Thank you. Then I got a lung infection. You know, some holidays just don’t work and you look forward to the next one instead.
Ugh. My wife got COVID and a bad cold back-to-back. I've been lucky so far, but my luck will run out eventually.
Congrats on leading the 4 year club to victory.

I was about to try LEGO Fortnite with my 7yo before we ran into a bunch of technical problems, but I really wanna try it this week.
