What a F’ing Year
The little newsletter that could has given me incredible joy these past six months.
I’ll keep this short, because who wants to read another email over the holidays?
I’ve been writing about video games for more than 20 years. I’m 38 years old, and I attended my first major video game event, E3, when I was 14 years old. I’ve enjoyed my time in video games, and expect it’s the place I’ll be until…well, I’m shuffled away.
Fortunately, I’m not being shuffled away yet.
Crossplay has been a source of great joy since it launched in June, and I’ve got big plans for the future. More guest writers. A podcast!!!! A fancy logo! I had no idea if Crossplay would stick around for more than a few months, but now it’s feeling like Crossplay will be sticking around a few years! I’m having a blast doing this, and there are so many stories to tell. I’m thankful, with your support, we’ll keep telling them.
It’s my hope Crossplay has given you as much as it’s given me.
Thank you for this opportunity.
Enjoy the holidays, however you spend them, and we’ll see you early next year!
P.S. Please share your holiday stories in the comments. I’d love to hear them.
Have a story idea? Want to share a tip? Got a funny parenting story? Drop Patrick an email.
Happy to have you around in any medium Patrick.
As for as a story I told my daughter the truth about Santa yesterday after a week of "Is he real" requests and she handled it great at the time but earlier today she came into my office crying and told me she doesn't feel like herself anymore. So I guess she's still working through it a little but she will be fine.
Happy holidays!
Have been enjoying this hugely so just wanted to say thanks for this year and best of luck with the next!
