Lovely story ❤️ our family of 3 often play video games together, the kid loves Grounded and we have spent many a happy hour grinding in the garden building shelters and killing bugs for armour. We've been playing Grounded 2 but it's still quite buggy (aware of pun).

Our kid was diagnosed with cancer late last year and went through vicious chemo which has now finished and they are recovering. During that time they lost themselves in No Man's Sky, Goat Simulator, Minecraft, Grounded and Tears of the Kingdom, amongst others. It gave them the ability to escape the horrors and boredom of the hospital and their treatment. We also got to play alongside and be there with them, as an equal.

My partner also works in the industry, so any time I worry about how much time the kid spends playing games, I remember that not only does gaming provide financially to our family, but emotionally.

I absolutely can relate to the connection aspect with your father!! Thank-you for sharing such a heart felt aspect of your life that 100% resonates with me too. Sadly my relationship with my father is past repair but I have understood why and it has made me determined to understand and cultivate the connections i have with my own children. which does in fact involve an amount of shared video game passion.

I hope you manage to find that time to connect with your dad and we read about it in time :)
