My 8yo has been off-and-on engaged by Dragon Quest Builders 2, but her default unfortunately is always less mechanically interesting games on the iPad. As I understand it, Pokepia is "Dragon Quest Builders but with Pokemon". I don't know if that will be enough to hold her attention better or not.

She liked Planet of Lana well enough. It's very much a PG-rated Limbolike. (Going back further, it's somewhat "Out Of This World" but way less difficult). It feels very repetitive though, so it's harder to recommend to adults.

I would say the grind in Dreamlight Valley has a lot more to do with inventory management than time management. Nothing's really on a time crunch, but there's so much shit you have to pick up and organize that it's a real drag. In the early game, before you've got your economy going and can make big chests, it's even worse.
